The farming of both edible and ornamental fishes can be done in the pond.
Ornamental: - Gold Fish, Angel Fish etc.
Edible: - Gaurmi, Karp, Karimeen, Vala etc
        The baby fishes in the pond by the beginning of the rainy season will mature by the summer season when the water is scarce. After catching the fish, water from the pond can be used for irrigation. Moreover the water in the pond will be rich in decaying organic matter, which increases the yield from the crops. The highlight of this pond is that water that is plenty in the rainy season can be stored for use in the summer. The income from the fish and availability of organic manure are added advantages.

        If the pond is for fish farming, the bottom surface must be covered with good quality soil to assist the growth of micro-organisms. Also suitable quantity of cow-dung is mixed with the water in the pond to facilitate the growth of micro flora and fauna which becomes the necessary fish-food
